  • Came In 1947 With His Family From Pakistan
  • Has Been Living In Barmer Since Then.
  • Learned Ajrakh Printing At A Very Early Age.
  • After Doing Work Under Someone For Quite A Few Years, Now He Has His Own Factory Of Ajrakh And Is The Director Of The Company.

  • Eldest Child Is 16 Years Of Age And The Youngest One Is 10 Years Old.

Lifestyle

  • Comes To Factory By 8 A.M. And Allots Work To Each Worker
  • Goes For Lunch In The Afternoon Around 1-2 P.M.
  • Comes By 3 P.M. From Lunch And Finally Shuts Down The Factory By 8 P.M.
  • Mr. Khatri Believes In Doing Work With Honesty And Is Completely Dedicated For Ajrakh Printing, His Traditional Craft.

  • Ajrakh Basically Begun In China, Where Natural Dyes Were Taken From India. Gradually The Work Started In India Also By The Muslims.
  • There Are Proofs Of Ajrakh Fabric Found From 3000 Bc, Where A Statue From Mohenjodaro Was Discovered Wearing The Scarf Of Ajrakh Printing.
  • Traditionally Ajrakh Was Done For Muslims For Their Wedding. It Was Inevitable For Any Muslim Wedding As They Considered It Auspicious.
  • Even Today Ajrakh Is In Great Demand In Muslims, But Lot Of Other Communities Also Buys Ajrakh As Dress Materials Or Home Furnishings.
  • Ajrakh Was Worn By Rich People And Was Basically Demanded By Sindhi’s And Muslims For Religious And Cultural Purposes.
